Hardy geraniums
Geranium "Buxtons Blue" in flower in the alpine border (upper picture). The lower picture shows a selection of pink flowered varieties in the cottage garden border. These are very versatile and easy plants with a long flowering season and can be recommended for any garden. They like sun or shade and require very little support. They are simply propagated by taking pieces off the stock plant (usually already with roots attached) and replanting in their new position. There are a large number of taller varieties suitable for the perennial border and an equally large number of smaller varieties for the alpine border.
