Osteospermum
These plants are good for a sunny border. Most of the fancy ones you can buy in garden centres are not hardy and therefore will need protection over winter. I have found that this simple pink variety is hardy and is easy to propagate buy taking off whole stems in autumn or spring (they nearly all have roots already growing on them) and potting them up in the cold frame. My only complaint with osteospermums is that if you go out to work you hardly see the flowers as they only open in sunlight and are usually closed by the evening.
